Starting in December: the newly opened rail transport line Venlo, the Netherlands – Busto Arsizio, Italy

In December, the railway operator Hupac will build a new railway line between Venlo in the Netherlands and Busto Alsizio in Italy. This will directly connect the two logistics hubs on the Rhine Alpine Corridor.

New hub in the network

"From December 13, 2021, our Shuttle Net will provide a new solution for fast and green multimodal transport: connecting Venlo in the Netherlands with Busto Arsizio near Milan every day", Hupac announced on Monday . The service will run five times a week in both directions and is suitable for the semi-trailer P400. Busto Arsizio is the home base of the operator, which not only runs multiple trains to the Italian hub, but also operates a terminal here. "Venlo provides ideal coverage, including Limburg in the Netherlands and North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, Hupac pointed out. At the same time, from Busto Arcizio, it can be connected to the Italian hubs of Bologna and Poland. Mezia, Bari and Barcelona, Spain.

Busto Arsizio-Galarat Terminal

The terminal combines the advantages of close integration of road and rail transit and strategic location. It is located in one of the major economic regions in Europe, 20 kilometers away from Milan and 150 kilometers away from the port of Genoa. Due to its connection to the north, via Luino, Domodossola and Chiasso, as well as with the rest of Italy, its railway location is the best. It can be reached directly by highway, allowing road vehicles to easily reach the train hub and drive quickly to the final destination. The terminal building is planned and implemented according to the most advanced planning technology, combining efficient and fast work with safety and environmental protection. Every day, dozens of trains connect the terminal with destinations in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, and Switzerland, and perform related hub functions within the European multimodal transport network.
