New initiative in railway transportation – NL Express

Dutch logistics operators have launched the new Dutch Express NL Express along the New Silk Road, a special train connecting all market participants between the Netherlands and China. This is a collaboration between companies currently transporting goods on the New Silk Road.
This was announced jointly by logistics companies New Silk Way Logistics and GVT Logistics Group at a railway network conference (RailFreight.com). The two companies participated in the PIB (Partners International Business) cooperation. The partners involved hope to further enhance the operational strength of the Netherlands on the New Silk Road. "About a week ago, we launched the NL Express train idea." said Oscar Vermeij, general manager of New Silk Way Logistics.
This business plan is still in the specific design preparations. Whether it is Tilburg or Venlo, as an important railway hub in the Netherlands, they are responsible for a large number of freight transfers from China. In particular, Venlo, which is close to Germany, is more able to assume the role of a hub for transshipping into other countries and regions in Europe. This plan will also include the Port of Rotterdam.
The PIB organization not only plans to build fast trains, but also looks forward to shortening the customs clearance time to improve the overall transportation timeliness.
