New initiatives for water transportation - Limburg Express and Maas Corridor

Limburg Express

In order to better activate the water transport between inland and seaport, European Gateway Services, Venlo Hutchison Ports, Barge Terminal Born and Danser Group jointly launched the Limburg freight express. The Limburg Express will connect the barge terminal between Venlo and Born to the main stations of the Rotterdam International Seaport at four times a week. This express line can reduce the communication between freighters and all links, reduce the time that containers stay in the port, reduce the demand for freight trucks and reduce the overall transportation price.

Maas Corridor

The operator BCTN has launched a new service that allows them to centrally transport cargo from various inland hubs such as Roermond, Venray, Nijmegen, and Den Bosch. At a fixed schedule, these goods can be sent to Rotterdam Deep Sea Terminal, Hutchison Ports Delta II, APM's Maasvlakte II and other points. Not only that, they can also connect cargo from various Belgian inland ports such as Beringen, Meerhout and Geel, and collectively gather at the deep sea terminal from Alblasserdam to Rotterdam.
